BOF's reupholstery factory in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, is entering an exciting new chapter as the business continues to expand, creating new opportunities for growth, employment and investment within the local community.
The further 5,000 sq. ft expansion reflects increasing demand for BOF's specialist reupholstery services and reinforces the company's long-term commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship and social value. As part of this growth, the factory has welcomed a new team member, strengthening its skilled workforce and supporting future ambitions.
Over recent years, the Dowlais team has successfully reupholstered thousands of pieces of furniture, giving damaged and worn items a new lease of life. By extending the lifespan of furniture, BOF has helped customers significantly reduce replacement costs while avoiding the carbon emissions. This circular approach supports both environmental sustainability and responsible spending, delivering tangible benefits for customers and the wider community.
The investment marks another important milestone for BOF as it continues to champion sustainable furniture solutions while supporting local jobs, skills development and economic growth in Merthyr Tydfil.
"This is a really exciting time for BOF. Our expansion in Dowlais is about more than growing the business - it's about creating opportunities, investing in people, and continuing to make a positive difference in our community. Through our reupholstery services, we're not only preserving valuable furniture and reducing waste, but also helping customers lower costs and reduce their environmental impact. We're proud of how far we've come and excited about what lies ahead."
