As part of our ongoing mission to create smarter, more sustainable workspaces, BOF is proud to become a licensed partner of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE – a global community working to help tackle marine plastic pollution by transforming recovered marine litter into high-quality, sustainable materials.

The SEAQUAL INITIATIVE works with fishermen, NGOs, ocean clean-up programmes and local communities to recover plastic waste from oceans, rivers, beaches and estuaries. The collected plastic is sorted, cleaned and transformed into SEAQUAL® YARN, a premium recycled polyester used to create beautiful, durable upholstery fabrics and other textile products.

By partnering with manufacturers who offer SEAQUAL® certified fabrics including Camira, Inlook and JDD, BOF can now provide clients with even more environmentally responsible upholstery options, helping organisations reduce their environmental impact without compromising on quality, comfort or design.

The initiative perfectly complements BOF's circular economy philosophy.

Through our Closing the Loop sustainable furniture programme, we already extend the life of thousands of furniture items each year through reupholstery, refurbishment and remanufacture. By combining these services with innovative recycled materials such as SEAQUAL® fabrics, we can further reduce waste, conserve valuable resources and support our clients' sustainability objectives.
