University of Warwick - Café Westward
Café Westward on Westward Campus is a large, vibrant social space with a variety of areas for students and staff to use for dining and socialising. As a result of the eclectic nature of the space, a variety of different manufacturers and products were used to create distinct areas designed for a myriad of uses.
Allermuir Haven booths were used to provide space for an enclosed collaborative dining experience. These high, upholstered sofas create an acoustic haven that gives users a heightened sense of privacy within the open space.
We were also required to create areas for more traditional dining experiences for small and large groups. Within the small group dining spaces, FourCast chairs by Ocee Design were specified as a lightweight, stackable solution that can be easily stored away depending on the needs of the space. For larger group dining, a combination of Jig Tables and Block Steel benches by Frovi, combined with Viv chairs and stools from Naughtone were used to create exciting areas at a variety of heights. Café Westward also provides student and staff with spaces for individual dining, working and contemplation. Using the high back “Ilk” chairs combined with innovative laptop tables, these spaces can be used for dining and working simultaneously.
