In the summer of 2014, we successfully completed the supply, delivery & installation of loose furniture to the ground floor of the University of Portsmouth’s Library. This project was completed in collaboration with Laure Debout Design.
New furniture was supplied to the ground floor of the library to create over 700 new study spaces, fully equipped with technology. A mixture of soft seating, meeting seating and media pods were used to create space for the students to work independently, collaborate, hold informal meetings and relax.
A key product used to facilitate students needs for relaxation were Ambient Lounge Bean Bags; a comfortable, domestic product that allows students to relax and quietly study or hold informal meetings in a familiar environment.
Orangebox Perimeter and Bene Parcs Media pods with built in technology encourages students to share their ideas and work together. Large surfaced benches allow students to work convivially and in collaboration. Flexibility was key in this project. Students were given the option to choose how they would like to work; inevitably bringing out the best of both the person and the environment.
