We recently completed the installation of office furniture for the new Clinical Accommodation Unit at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. The contract was awarded via NHS Wales, through competitive tendering under the NPS Framework. We have supplied our signature Symphony bench desking with screens, overhead storage and Coast chairs across all four floors.
The state-of-the-art four-storey building will provide clinical support accommodation and become home to the hospital’s Diabetes Centre and Occupational Health department. Around 500 staff who have been working in outdated, frequently cramped accommodation will now transfer to the new building.
Darren Griffiths, ABMU Acting Director of Planning and Performance, said the clinical support accommodation was planned to be built between the new main entrance complex and Ty Olwen. “The Diabetes Centre and Occupational Health department will be located on the ground floor and support accommodation for clinical staff on the three upper storeys. This will replace the remaining services left in the World War Two accommodation at the bottom end of the site and marks the conclusion of an important phase in the overall development of the hospital.”
Like the main entrance development, the new clinical support accommodation has been built to the highest standards and incorporate many environmentally-friendly features.
