The Curzon Building is a state-of-the-art building at Birmingham City University’s City Centre Campus. Home to the University’s Business, English, Law, Social Sciences Students and a newly refurbished library.
We were chosen to work alongside the space* studio to deliver their specified scheme. This included the iconic Vitra Joyn Desking in open plan, collaborative study areas; combined with Workbay booths to provide quiet spaces for individual work. As the Curzon Library is open 24 hours a day, it was important sufficient lighting and power were provided for students to study comfortably no matter what time of day.
In addition to open plan study areas within the library, we also provided a number of breakout and social spaces across this stunning five storey building. Connection Mae Chairs were provided between spaces, along with Flamingo tables for use with laptops/tablets; while bespoke benches were supplied in the 1st floor library.
