Swansea University - Nanhyfer Building
Swansea University’s Bay Campus is situated on a 65 acre former BP Transit site in Neath Port Talbot on the eastern approach into Swansea and has the distinction of being one of the few global universities with direct access onto a beach and its own seafront promenade. The Campus provides academic, student accommodation and research space, the latter being in a series of agreements with international and national companies.
We managed the supply & delivery of over 29,000 furniture items across 10 buildings at this prestigious, ground-breaking campus in 2015.
The Bay Campus is an extension of the existing Singleton Park just 5 miles down the coast, expanding the University to become a world-class facility. The Nanhyfer building is located to the west of the Core Food Court on the Bay Campus.

We recently supplied furniture into the Estates office at the Nanhyfer Building (Building 12). This pilot scheme included hot desking areas, social spaces and meeting furniture to enable the Estates department to trial agile working. The Estates Department, usually based at the Singleton campus, required a flexible space to work when at the Bay campus.
As part of the brief we designed a bespoke reception counter which was manufactured and installed by Clarke Rendall. Vitra Joyn desking & Orangebox Away From The Desk media booths were specified to enable both collaboration and private working with personal lockers provided to aid hot desking. As a local supplier in South Wales Orangebox also supplied task chairs, reception seating and meeting chairs.
