Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council - Sandfields Primary School

This BREEAM Rated 'Excellent' Building features photo voltaic cells, underfloor heating and a rainwater harvesting system. The installation was completed in time for the Autumn 2013 term when pupils from Glan Y Mor, Tir Morfa Primary Schools and Ty Afan Primary Centre moved into the new facility. We worked with Neath Port Talbot's architect Jonathan Morris to provide a complete solution, including design, specification and supply of all school furniture from Foundation 1 through to Year 6 & all staff areas.

For foundation 1 we designed, role play areas, libraries, construction zones, play dens, wet play, formal learning and outdoor play spaces. For the schools main atrium or heart space we designed a vibrant scheme with pockets of space for the children to play, discover and learn. For the older pupils we provided modern flexible learning spaces featuring mobile tables, acoustic screening and step seats to create a mini auditorium environment. All areas were designed with mobile technology in mind.

A flexible solution was required for the multi-purpose dining hall. We provided high density stacking furniture and a flexible stage system which can be built or disassembled by a single person with no heavy lifting.
