Wrap Up 20th April

Thursday, 19 April, 2018

It's that time again - time for another Wrap Up. This one is news focused as we've had lots of tender feedback this week. As the weather hots up and summer is approaching, our busiest time of year for furniture installations is about to begin. Here's some of what's been going on at BOF recently...

Loughborough University – New Student Village Contract Award

Since becoming Rank 1 furniture supplier to the North East Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) in December 2017 we have been busy building relationships with NEUPC member organisations. We are proud to have been awarded our first major project under the framework by the best sporting university in the world (global 2018 QS higher education league table) for the supply and installation of furniture for the New Student Village, Elite Athlete Centre and Student Hub. With installations planned for August 2018 and June 2019 we look forward to working with the University team.

BBC Wales Cardiff Central Square Contract Awards

Following the award of the framework agreement for Cat C Furniture by BBC Wales in 2017 we have now been awarded contracts to supply Workstations and Task Chairs for the new BBC Wales Broadcasting House in Central Square, Cardiff. The delivery and installation is planned to commence in September 2018 and we are excited to be involved in this flagship project right in the heart of our capital city.

Liverty (previously DCH) Skypark Installation

We're looking forward to starting the furniture installation for Liverty's new Skypark building at the end of April. DCH (Devon and Cornwall Housing) and Knightstone have recently merged to form Liverty. Liverty is a leading developer of housing in the south west. From the shores of Cornwall to the Gloucestershire hills, they have combined rock solid foundations with the scale and vision to build real social change in the region, one front door at a time.

We were awarded the contract to supply loose furniture for new offices in Skypark and Tolvaddon following a tough OJEU tender process in May 2017. The installation at Tolvaddon is planned for November 2018.

University of Bristol Contract Extension

We have been asked by the University of Bristol to extend the Contract for the Supply of Furniture for a further 12 months until 31st March 2019. We have built very effective working relationships with the team at the University over the term of this contract and completed several large projects. We hope to continue this success for another 12 months.

NPS Contract Extension

We are pleased to announce that the National Procurement Service (NPS) wish to extend the framework for the provision of furniture solutions contract for another 12 months. The contract is now in place until May 2019. Our role within the NPS framework allows us to supply Office, Education & Library furniture across the whole of Wales to all Welsh Public Sector bodies.

The National Procurement Service (NPS) for Wales was launched in November 2013 and is hosted by the Welsh Government. It has been established to work on behalf of the wider public sector across Wales. Since becoming an NPS supplier in 2015 we have been awarded the National Police Forces contract, Welsh Governments and National Assembly for Wales contracts under this framework agreement.
