As we start a new decade, Pantone colour forecasters are looking to the future with this years colour in the spotlight, Classic blue. Carefully chosen by industry experts the colour has been selected for its timeless and simplistic nature instilling reassurance and calm as a new era begins. With the colour ranging from the depth of a blue hour sky to the pastel of a hydrangea in bloom there is a tone within the palette that can be applied to any interior.

We have narrowed down a few ideas on integrating Classic blue into your spaceā€¦..

Creating a statement with a bold piece of furniture set amongst more neutral tones will add real punch to an interior without overwhelming the senses.

Incorporating classic blues alongside other vibrant colours can liven up an interior and create a sense of activity.

Evocative of a bliss-filled tropical paradise, the enchanting colour story in Snorkel transports us to an idyllic destination. The addition of a classic black and white creates a dramatic contrast with the depth and strength of PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, providing the anchoring foundation...

Subtle nods to the colour of the year could be achieved through floor details such as rugs or wall finishes within meeting or breakout areas signalling the different use of space in an open plan environment.

Alternatively, you may want to go all out and carry the colour across a floor space utilising the depth and breath of the palette.

Our mood board demonstrates how to incorporate classic blue into your soft seating using Kvadrat Remix 773, Canvas 726, Canvas 746. Alternatively, other upholstery fabrics from Kvadrat within the classic blue palette include Melange nap 771, Remix 762 and Canvas 794.

There are also more traditional classic blue fabric options such as Camira's Blazer Oxford, Blazer Edinburgh, Patina Rippled or Yoredale which could complement your scheme with the insertion of colour.

However you decide to apply the colour of the year it is certain to bring a new focus to your workspace in 2020.
