University of Southampton - Centre for Cancer Immunology

As the approved furniture supplier to the University of Southampton BOF’s Project Team have worked closely with the client, Rekan and main contractor Kier since 2016 to develop the project. We also worked with Lauren Thompson at Devereux Architecture on the furniture specification who planned the furniture layouts and chose the interior/furniture finishes.

The installation was completed early 2018. We provided desking, seating and storage from our 'Harmony Collection' throughout this state of the art building and are proud to be involved with such a prestigious project. Click here to view more.

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2018

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, which is held during Stockholm Design Week, has established itself as the most important week of the year for Scandinavian Design since its launch in 2002.

Our Capital Projects team visited Stockholm along with our Managing Director and Strategic Account Manager Daniel Ball. We view trade fairs as an excellent opportunity to network with our contacts across the industry and develop new connections that strengthen our product portfolio. At Stockholm this year our team noted the increased use of ‘raw materials’, and were impressed with the innovative acoustic solutions that had been brought to market.

University of Nottingham - Advanced Manufacturing Building

The construction of the Advanced Manufacturing Building on Jubilee Campus will connect the campus to Derby road and the adjacent Gatehouse Lodge. The building comprises of office space, laboratories and seminar space for the Faculty of Engineering. As the sole appointed furniture supplier to the University under the SUPC framework agreement our Capital Projects team worked closely with the UoN Capital Projects team to develop the final specification. We installed loose furniture in classrooms, collaborative teaching spaces, post-graduate rooms, workshops, offices and social spaces throughout the three floors of this cutting edge building.

ReThink issue 2 launched prior to NEUPC Members conference in York

After the success of issue 1, we launched issue 2 of RETHINK in March in advance of the NEUPC Members Conference in York in April 2018. Our newspaper is packed with content about all things design and furniture. The guest articles featured in Issue 2 were ‘The Rise of Resimercial’ from Frovi, explaining how industry trends are leaning towards a more residential design style in commercial workspaces, and ‘Reshaping Learning Spaces’ by KI on how universities became a hotbed for innovative architecture.

Loughborough University - New Student Village & EAC Contract Award

Since becoming Rank 1 furniture supplier to the North East Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) in December 2017 we have been busy building relationships with NEUPC member organisations.

We are proud to have been awarded our first major project under the framework by the best sporting university in the world for the supply and installation of furniture for the New Student Village, Elite Athlete Centre and Student Hub. Phase one was installed in August 2018 with Phase 2 planned for June 2019. We have enjoyed working with the University team.

University of Nottingham - RAD Building

The Research Acceleration and Demonstration (RAD) building is a brand new £7 million research facility being developed at the University of Nottingham, in conjunction with the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) initiative.

Our Capital Projects team worked closely with the University's Estates team to develop research, collaboration and breakout environments throughout all four floors of this impressive new building.

We delivered a wide range of desking, storage and soft seating, primarily from our own 'Harmony Collection'. This ensured we were able to meet both the functional and aesthetic requirements of this state of the art research building.

Clerkenwell Design Week 2018

Clerkenwell Design Week’s ninth edition showcased a fantastic array of installations and product launches, marking a jam-packed sunny three days of events and networking. Our Designers and Showroom team travelled to London to explore the furniture showrooms of Clerkenwell. Our team looked for inspiration for our showroom refurbishment as well as new product to introduce to our clients and the Architects and Designers we work with.

On Day 2 of Clerkenwell Design Week our second team headed to the Clerkenwell district to visit a number of our suppliers. It was great to see so many new product launches and showroom developments. Our Managing Director Michael Parrish, Simon Narbeth (Design & Project Manager), Daniel Ball (Strategic Account Manager) and Lucy Davies (Marketing & Tenders) headed to Frovi for a tour of their fantastic premises. The welcome was as warm as the weather and we loved the showroom particularly the Relic Cloud and the great Frappuccino’s!

LiveWest - Skypark

We were chosen as the loose furniture provider for their new headquarters at Skypark, near Exeter; and new office building in Tolvaddon, Cornwall following a competitive OJEU tender process.The new Headquarters located at Skypark, is a 110 acre major redevelopment scheme being led by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist. The Skypark office, delivered by St. Modwen, will improve service quality and consistency for Liverty’s thousands of customers, from an easily accessible site.

Public Sector Client

In 2017 a contract client asked us to manage the removal of over 3,690 items of furniture from one floor of their regional headquarters. They requested that we complete the removal within 4 weeks in October. We efficiently managed the project utilising resource from our dedicated fitting team and supporting Senator Sustain personnel within 13 working days.

In May 2018 we commenced the furniture installation across the floor. We were allocated 8 weeks to complete the installation. We actually completed it within 4 weeks which by far exceeded client expectations. The installation included 300 Crossover bench workstations from Senator, over 250 Humanscale Freedom task chairs and 155 Bisley Myspace Lockers.

Cardiff University - School of Journalism, Media and Culture (JOMEC)

Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Culture has relocated to a state-of-the-art building in Cardiff’s Central Square, situated alongside national broadcaster BBC Wales.

BOF are also providing all desking, seating and tables throughout the new BBC Wales Headquarters in Central Square, Cardiff.

University of Bristol - Cathedral Square

Cathedral Square is right in the heart of the city. The University of Bristol has taken a 10 year lease on 27,341 sq ft of space on the ground and first floors. Dyson Technology Limited has acquired the second and third floors totalling 28,718 sq ft.

Oxford Architects were asked by the University of Bristol to create an agile office space for 150 staff and a further 18 hot desks.

We supplied furniture from Orangebox, Humanscale and a number of our own University approved ranges to compliment the scheme.

University of Wales Trinity St David - IQ Building

In March 2018 we were appointed as the preferred furniture provider for the design, supply and installation of furniture to the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David’s new Academic Building. This building forms part of the first phase of the University’s new purpose built facility for learning, teaching and research situated at the Swansea SA1 Waterfront.

Our Capital Projects team worked closely with Kier Construction and the University’s project team to ensure the project ran smoothly. We were responsible for the design and planning of the whole building including teaching spaces, PC labs, social areas, café and workshops.

University of Nottingham - Teaching & Learning Building

The latest addition to University Park campus at the University of Nottingham is the Teaching and Learning Hub. Positioned adjacent to Hallward Library and in the centre of campus, this has provided a much needed boost to the University’s teaching requirements. The new £20 million Teaching and Learning Hub will create a 5,000m2 teaching facility including a collaborative 300 seat lecture theatre, performing arts space, differing size teaching rooms, social learning hub and staff offices.

Swansea University - The College

The latest addition to the impressive Swansea Bay beachfront campus is ‘The College, Swansea University’. This exciting partnership, borne out of a joint venture company established between education provider Navitas and Swansea University, boosts international student recruitment by providing increased options for direct pathways to degree courses at the university.

The College’s Project Team who asked us to design an interior environment with a unique identity. Simon Narbeth, our Design & Project Manager, created an inspiring scheme using some of the latest products and finishes from leading European manufacturers.

University of Surrey - George Edwards Library

The University of Surrey have invested 5.5million in the George Edwards Library over the last three years. The Library comprises of 3 physical sections: the original George Edwards building, the 1980 Mullens extension and the 2011 Learning Centre extension.

Last year we refurbished Levels 4 and 5 of the George Edwards section of the building and Levels 2, 4 and 5 of the Mullens section.

As well as 160 additional seats this summer and 130 additional in summer 2017, over 600 study spaces have been replaced and upgraded to create spaces we hope will inspire and motivate.

Procurex Wales 2018

Now in it’s fourth year and again supported by Welsh Government, Procurex Wales 2018 is well established as one of the major highlights within the annual procurement calendar – supporting innovation, education, collaboration and celebration over a single dedicated day.

More than 1,100 delegates enjoyed over 40 free training sessions, the Welsh Government Procurement Pavilion, the NHS Wales SSP Procurement Pavilion, Business Wales and Sell2Wales Support Zone and the wealth of knowledge demonstrated in the 5 training zones and throughout the event.

BBC Cymru Wales Headquarters, Cardiff Central Square

The Central Square development is one of the biggest changes Cardiff – and Wales – has ever seen. We are pleased to be supplying all desking, task chairs, tables and soft seating throughout the new £120m headquarters for BBC Cymru Wales. Our desking installation began at the end of November. Our Project team collaborated with Sheppard Robson (ID:SR), Currie & Brown, J4 Projects and our supply chain to finalise product specification, finishes and furniture layouts. We are also working with Overbury to co-ordinate deilveries and installation into 2019.
