University of Nottingham - Advanced Manufacturing Building

The construction of the Advanced Manufacturing Building on Jubilee Campus will connect the campus to Derby road and the adjacent Gatehouse Lodge. The building comprises of office space, laboratories and seminar space for the Faculty of Engineering. As the sole appointed furniture supplier to the University under the SUPC framework agreement our Capital Projects team worked closely with the UoN Capital Projects team to develop the final specification. We installed loose furniture in classrooms, collaborative teaching spaces, post-graduate rooms, workshops, offices and social spaces throughout the three floors of this cutting edge building.

This new facility will enable the university to expand its Faculty of Engineering and will host several world-leading research groups, accommodating some of the most advanced manufacturing technologies related to automation, precision manufacturing, additive manufacturing and lightweight composite materials.

The 97,000 sq ft building sits next to Lenton Lodge – the former gatehouse to Wollaton Park – and provides a new southern entrance to the university’s Jubilee Campus, which occupies much of the former Raleigh site in Triumph Road.

Chris Jagger, chief estates and facilities officer at the university, said:

“This pioneering project delivers a fantastic addition to the university’s portfolio of unique and ground-breaking buildings and it further enhances the continued growth of our Jubilee Campus.

“The project has also included a replacement new building for the 62nd Wollaton Park Scout Group, which will also provide facilities for the local community.”
