University of East London's SportsDock project now complete.

Opening in March 2012, University of East London's SportsDock, a state-of-the-art £21 million sports complex, based at their Docklands campus will provide:

  • Large 100 + station fitness centre
  • 2 sports arenas (which can host badminton, basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, netball)
  • Aerobics and dance studio
  • Strength and conditioning room
  • 2 outdoor five-a-side pitches
  • Sports cafe
  • Lecture and teaching rooms

On completion, the facilities will be available for University staff and students, as well as the local community.

The United States' Olympics team is to use the Sportsdock as its 2012 Olympic Games base. More than 1,000 competitors, coaches and medical staff will use UEL campuses in the Docklands and Stratford in east London, near the Olympic Park.

The athletes will also use UEL's halls of residence and set up a medical and media centre at the campus.
