Welcome to part 2 of the BOF year in review. Today we'll be taking a look at our highlights from July through to December. We hope you enjoy!
During July, two of our Account Managers James Dando and Dan Ball took a trip to the Vitra campus in Germany with key clients from HNW Architects, Kendall Kingscott and Rekan. Visits to the Vitra Campus are always a highlight from the year, incredibly inspiring and well organised by Nick Sheepy. The team experienced the usual campus tour but also a chance to visit the new Vitra museum; best of all this was shared with some of our Key Clients!
July also saw a complete overhaul of our commercial fleet. We invested in 5 new 7.5 tonne trucks and 2 new 3.5 tonne long wheelbase vehicles with Euro6 diesel engines. This has vastly improved our carbon emissions and overall impact on the environment, while also benefiting our customers across the UK.
This year we've been incredibly busy down on the South-coast; with the University of Southampton being no exception. In the summer we completed a number of installations at the University including projects at Highfield Campus, Southampton Business School, Murray Building, Life Sciences, Southampton Law School and the National Oceanography Centre.
Our project at the University of Reading's new School of Architecture was probably one of my favourite photography trips of the year. We provided loose furniture throughout the entire historic building shown above; and even had a little time to eat some lunch out on the lawn while taking the picture shown above.
In addition to a completely new website this year, we also felt it was time to make some improvements to our printed literature. We launched 4 x new brochures this year, all of which can be downloaded from the link below...
In August, we were extremely please to be reappointed as supplier of workplace and education furniture to the University of Nottingham. Having worked closely with the University for several years, for both contract supply and larger projects, we look forward to continuing our existing relationship.
In September we worked closely with The University of South Wales and Boyes-Rees Architects in creating inspiring learning environments, across four floors of the brand new extension to the ATRiuM building in Cardiff. The project also included a refurbishment of the existing ground floor and library.
The image above shows the first EVER BuzziShed's by Buzzispace installed. Our client at Aberystwyth University loved the aesthetic and function of this product and were the first order Buzzispace had received for their new product. Groundbreaking!
2016 has been extremely busy at Birmingham City University with lots of day-to-day and large project work. The above image shows a selection of Vitra product installed at Curzon Library. Click the links below to view two of our largest BCU projects.
In October, a team of six took a trip to Germany to visit Orgatec, the leading international trade fair for equipment and furnishing of offices and properties. The fair takes place every two years in Cologne and is considered one of the biggest events throughout the industry for office and commercial equipment. We live blogged the entire event, if you're interested in current and future trends within the industry take a look at the links below...
Our staff's well-being is paramount to us. This is why towards the end of 2015 we refurbished our entire offices with sit-to-stand desking. In order to get feedback on how our staff are finding the change in working style we decided to interview staff members in various departments and document the results. Click below for the full report...
In October our Design/Marketing department produced this behind the scenes look at our showroom photography. The showroom has been constantly evolving this year so we felt the need to capture this as best as possible. To see more of our Showroom and our most recent developments please click below.
The two above images are from some of our larger projects up at the University of Nottingham: David Ross Sports Village and the Ingenuity Centre. One project housing the largest sports hall in the UK and the other being the home for enterprise within the University of Nottingham. Click below for the full projects!
In November we posted our first of many "Guest Blog" articles on our website and LinkedIn. Our first entry titled "Serendipitous encounters of the workspace kind" was produced by our good friends at Spaceoasis. Make sure you click the link below for the full article.
Christmas may be quickly approaching but we're not slowing down yet. Work has begun this week on the new South Wales Police Headquarters. Installation will continue up until Christmas and in early January. Keep an eye out for the full case study soon!
Thanks for reading. We hope you enjoyed our look back through 2016; it's definitely gotten us excited for what 2017 has to offer!
