December is a good time for reflection. We were inspired to go back and take a look at what's made 2016 our best year to date. After looking through our blogs and tweets from the year, we thought we'd share our highlights with you all. Keep reading for Part 1 of our "Year in review".
Despite 2015 being our best year to date, we started 2016 with the intention of making sure the year was even bigger and better than the last. Through the hard work of our team we were extremely pleased to be awarded the contract for the supply of furniture to Birmingham City University which commenced in January. What a way to start the year!
February's highlight was definitely the launch of the new website! We worked behind the scenes for around 6 months to ensure our new site would make a big splash within the industry. The new website gave the perfect platform to keep you all up-to-date with both BOF and industry news. We've had some great feedback and our views have gone through the roof; that's a success in our books!
In addition to the launch of the new website. We were also named as one of two official furniture suppliers to the University of Bristol. The contract was awarded after an extensive tender process including design proposals, presentations and sample inspections.
In March we launched our first video case study. We told the story of our biggest project to date through an interview/documentary style case study. This project was a collaborative approach between our Design/Marketing department and 2 local independent businesses. Let us know what you think!
In April, our largest project was featured in Mix Interiors magazine. The team from Mix spoke with our Design & Project Manager Simon and Buro Four Associate Director Judith Richards on the ins and outs of this prestigious project.
In May of 2016 we were shortlisted for the Mixology "Furniture provider of the year" award. Unfortunately, we weren't crowned the winner but we were still extremely proud to be finalists for this prestigious award and really enjoyed the event as a whole.
Every year we look forward to Clerkenwell Design Week and this year was no exception. This year we sent a team of our Designers (Simon Narbeth & Abbie Jones) and Account Managers (James Dando & Dan Ball) along with our Managing Director Mike Parrish up to London to see what this year's festival had to offer.
June was a busy month of roadshows for our team. With meet the supplier events at the University of Bath, LUPC/SUPC Conference, University of Southampton and the University of Brighton. These events are always a great chance to meet new and existing customers while expressing who we are and what we do.
We uploaded two major case studies to the website in June, one of which being Bournemouth University's Fusion Building. Bournemouth University’s new flagship academic building is an impressive glass-fronted new centerpiece for the campus which will house research and education facilities including seminar rooms and lecture theaters.
Also added to our projects section in June was our University of Nottingham - Centre for Sustainable Chemistry project. The University of Nottingham's Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) will be housed in a brand new carbon neutral laboratory, the first of its kind in the UK. Located on the University’s ward winning innovation Park, the new building will provide unrivalled facilities for chemistry.
