Projects Update

Friday, 10 November, 2017

As we’re steadily approaching the end of 2017, we’ve been out on the road over the past few weeks capturing as much project photography as we can; ready for our annual Yearly Wrap Up! This year has been the busiest year at BOF yet, with more Contract, Framework and Project wins than ever before. Take a look at some of our recent projects below.

Birmingham City University – Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

Birmingham City University’s brand new £57 million home for Birmingham Conservatoire opened its doors to students with a new name thanks to the Queen. In April 2016 BOF were invited to tender for the loose furniture package at the new Conservatoire. Tenders were returned to Faithful+Gould cost consultants for evaluation with the client.

Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s teaching and performance facility is the first of its kind in the digital age and is the perfect fusion of traditional and contemporary.

University of Southampton – Connaught Halls

Wessex-Wide1.jpg

Wessex Lane is a large complex of halls which provides a more traditional student village feel, with a wide range of room types, vibrant social scene and close proximity to the popular student area of Portswood. The halls complex is divided into two main sites; Montefiore, and the part-catered Connaught halls.

We collaborated with HPW Architecture Ltd to ensure the furniture supplied met the clients brief and created the desired environment for student residents.

The University of Bristol's new Colston Street accommodation opened in November 2017 and provides self catered accommodation for over 100 students in the heart of Bristol City Centre and just a 15 minute walk from the University Campus.

As an approved furniture supplier to the University of Bristol we worked with Oxford Architects and the client to specify suitable ranges of furniture for social spaces, dining areas and study bedrooms.

The Library comprises of 3 physical sections: the original George Edwards building, the 1980 Mullens extension and the 2011 Learning Centre extension. Stock is currently dispersed over 3 floors of the Library. The recent refurbishment project focussed on Levels 4 and 5 of the George Edwards section of the building and on Levels 2, 4 and 5 of the Mullens section.

“The library improvements have created 120 additional spaces for this academic year. Individual carrels on Level 5 all have their own task lights and provide really effective space for more concentrated study.
