Wales’ annual Festival of Public Procurement returned on Thursday, 9th November 2017. Working towards the ‘Taking Wales Forward 2016-2021‘ strategy, the most important day of the year for Wales’ public procurement community filled the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff.
Procurex Wales 2017 was dedicated to enhancing innovation, collaboration and education through a wide range of interactive features, which are aligned to the challenges and opportunities facing Wales’ procurement community.
The event featured a range of skills development and educational features, facilitated through engaging workshops and advice hubs. In addition, the Product Showcase Exhibition provided a unique platform for public and third sector buyers to engage directly with a broad range of official framework and non-framework suppliers, who demonstrated their latest innovative solutions.
Procurex Wales 2017 features included:
Product Showcase Exhibition
Skills Development Training Zones
Welsh Government Centre of Expertise Pavilion
Following the recent award of the Welsh Government and National Assembly for Wales furniture contracts we were asked to exhibit opposite the Welsh Government Pavilion at the centre of the exhibition hall. Further information on these contract award can be found here.
The agenda at Procurex Wales 2017
The day began with an opening welcome address from Sue Moffatt, Commercial Director for Welsh Government and Director of the NPS. There were Keynote speakers throughout the day in addition to numerous workshops in several Training Zones on topics such as ‘Collaboration’, ‘Cyber Crime’ and ‘Ethical Sourcing’.
Our exhibition stand continued the theme we created for COUP 2017 utilisng the fantastic “On-Point” table from “Offecct”, this innovative product provides the perfect housing for an artificial or real tree to shoot up from the middle. Can you be-leaf it? The product gave us a great platform to sit down with delegates and discuss work (and non-work) related subjects over a spot of lunch. It also gave us the perfect opportunity to run through some of our recently completed projects which can be viewed here.
Our VR Garden #BOFVRGARDEN allowed us to demonstrate our space planning capabilities with the delegates using Google cardboard style VR goggles, which were incredibly well received! At BOF, we pride ourselves on doing things a little bit different; hearing comments such as “your stand should win awards” from key decision makers within the public sector was fantastic. Check out some of the action shots below:
For all those who attended, we hope you enjoyed this years event.
