Our environmental objective is to supply quality products that are fit for our customer's purpose on a sustained basis with as little impact as possible on the environment, especially in terms of waste, pollution and energy usage. To this end, we endeavour to select manufacturers and supplier's who adopt and adhere to environmental guidelines and procedures within their business.
We strive to actively achieve our environmental objectives by choosing natural, renewable raw materials as far as possible. We try to avoid plastics because they can be difficult to recycle. In cases where we have not found adequate substitutes we use special thermoplastic resins (polyamide, polypropylene and ABS) which can be melted and reused. Polyurethane stuffing and cell-PUR armrests can be properly recycled.
BOF follows the guidelines of ISO 14001 and ensures that wood contained in our furniture comes from legal and sustainable sources. All wood used in our core ranges of desking and storage is endorsed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). BOF currently recycles waste and supports EU marking of individual materials to facilitate sorting for recycling.
